It is NOT So Late to Get Strong Healthy Hair Before Christmas, Four TIPS For You

Hair goals are no different than goals in any other area of your life. You have to decide on a result and work backwards. Our hair care requires commitment anyway. The varying level of commitment will usually coincide with the kind of results you see in your hair. Whether your goal is growth or to simply improve the overall health of your hair, you will achieve the desired result through consistency and commitment. Before we get into all the New Year’s Resolutions that bombard us toward the end of the year, let’s get a bit of a head start by committing now to implement practices that will get us on track for a have healthier head of hair before the Christmas even gets here!

1. Exclusive use of moisturizing shampoos and conditioners
Moisturizing your hair is a must because the strands tend to be naturally dry. This is not too much of a concern as long as you replenish the lost moisture. You can easily do this by simply using products that are designed to add moisture to the hair.
Shampooing and conditioning are steps we repeat more than almost any others. They are a frequently reoccurring part of out hair care. Moisturizing shampoos and conditioners are specifically developed to infuse the strands with much-needed moisture. If you commit to only using shampoos and conditioners that are targeted at adding moisture, you will see a difference in your hair.

2. Limit heat styles to once per week (or less)
It is possible to safely use heat on your hair. However, not applying heat to your hair is always healthier. You want to land somewhere in the middle. Whenever possible, heatless styles should be implemented into your hair styling routine.
Several different heatless styles can be stretched out across your routine to give you pretty and presentable hair. The trick to staying true to this step is variety. Try to master at least 2 go to heatless styles that last for 2 to 3 days each. That way, you can wash and restyle your hair twice within a 7 day period and not use heat at all.
If you can’t commit to no heat, wash and style your hair with heat once. Then, after your next wash, wear a heatless style for the next few days and you will have easily stayed true to your commitment. Two heatless styles also keep you from getting bored. Switching between styles means you would only repeat a style 2 times within a month. How is that for variety?

3. Add oil to your hair every night
Most ladies understand the importance of implementing oils into their hair routine. But, do you really apply oil EVERY.SINGLE.NIGHT? The honest answer is probably no.
A lot of you may think this step is crazy because it will cause the hair to be heavy and weighed down. That is true if you go in too heavy handed with the application. The point of this step, though, is to simply keep the strands from popping and to reduce friction. To accomplish this, you only need a small amount of oil. The amount will differ depending on the length and density of your hair.
Oil prevents breakage and keeps the hair from fraying as it rubs against pillows, head scarves, and bed sheets. Taking a few drops and running it through your hair will have a cumulative positive effect and by Christmas, you will see a difference.

4. Deep condition with heat at least 2 times per month
The only thing worse than sitting under the dryer is deep conditioning. It just sucks. There is nothing you can do besides wait, and when you skip this step, it’s noticeable. To make matters worse, the most effective deep conditioning process includes heat. Not only do you have to deep condition, but you have to sit under the dryer and be ‘doubly’ miserable.
I understand, I hate it too. The fact remains that deep conditioning your hair with heat application pays off. Your strands need conditioning because conditioner helps to fill in the gaps in the strands that are caused by chemical processes. Deep conditioning is, well, the same thing but deeper.

Heat opens the layers of the hair, which allows the conditioner to get to the more delicate inner layers of the hair strands. Stronger hair from the inside out shows. Don’t skip the deep conditioning ladies. It is only 2 times a month. You can do it.

What are your secrets to stronger healthier hair in a short time?
